Secret.ly is an app that pitches itself to be a open space to share freely about what's in your mind. An anonymous safe-haven for sharing your thoughts. For those of you in my generation, when I first heard of it I thought it seemed like a cool concept and I wondered what things people would share.
I found it a bit lackluster and little boring. The most popular musings were from entrepreneur types bragging about how much money they have, and complaints about the Silicon Valley Problems (which are admittedly not really difficult problems) .
What did pique my interest was the not to secret-ness of Secret.ly. Reporters and news outlets now have another channel to find information about start-ups and get the inside scoop on Valley goings on. Most notably the recent story of a designer/founder who was left out of a lucrative aqui-hire/purchase from Google.
