Envisioning a universal Emergency Alert System for the State of California

CalAlert

CalAlert is a consolidated emergency alert and response system. This system enables residents and visitors to California to access information from multiple verified state and federal agencies, as well as local, crowdsourced data. This system allows for local municipalities, police, fire, and other emergency response organizations to disseminate information with minimal overhead.

The climate crisis is the existential threat we will all face in the upcoming decades. In 2020 alone, over 4 million acres burned in California. Fires, hurricanes, and floods are only going to intensify, so we must build accessible platforms and communication infrastructure to warn people of danger.
